Terms and conditions

Ittefaaq is a service for sharing and reading missed-connection stories. By using it, you agree to these terms and acknowledge our privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Contact us if you believe someone else has access to it.

Do not impersonate another person, create accounts through automation, or use someone else’s account without permission.

You retain ownership of the stories and comments you submit. You give Ittefaaq a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and display that content as needed to operate the service, including backups and moderation.

Only submit content you have the right to share. Posts, comments, usernames, and story locations are public. Do not include private information about another person without their permission.

This licence does not give us ownership of your work or give other visitors unrestricted rights to reuse it.

Do not use Ittefaaq for unlawful content, harassment, threats, stalking, hate, impersonation, spam, scams, or exposing another person’s private information. Do not share sexual content involving minors or non-consensual intimate material.

Do not interfere with the service, attempt unauthorised access, or bypass security and rate limits. You remain responsible for what you publish and for respecting other people’s rights.

We may review, restrict, or remove content and suspend accounts that breach these terms, create a safety risk, or must be removed to comply with legal obligations. We do not guarantee that every post has been reviewed or is accurate.

You can edit or delete your own posts and comments where the service provides those controls. To request other removals or appeal a decision, email hello@purplepixl.org with the relevant link and explanation.

Removing content from public view does not necessarily erase backups or records kept for security, moderation, or legal reasons. Copies made independently by other people may remain outside our control.

Maps, place search, optional third-party sign-in, and external links may be provided by other services. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to their services.

Ittefaaq is provided as available. We may change or interrupt the service, and cannot guarantee uninterrupted access, the accuracy of user content, or that a missed connection will be found.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we exclude warranties and liability for losses arising from use of the service or reliance on user content. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.

We may update these terms. The current version and its update date will be available on this page. Continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
